VAVETS supports our Virginia Veterans and their families as they evaluate their options for education and training. Our volunteers will provide local training to help our Veterans reintegrate back into their families and communities. Our staff and volunteers will also partner with Virginia Colleges and Universities in each of our regions to ensure our Veterans have the knowledge and tools to be successful in the classroom. We will help our veterans identify degree paths that are aligned with the skills our corporate partners have demand for today or see as growth areas. We will help ensure our veterans understand and wisely apply their GI Bills. Here at VAVETS, we understand that college is not for everyone. VAVETS will work with our local businesses to establish vocational training centers and apprenticeships.

The VAVETS e-learning for Business platform powered by Udemy allows Virginia Veterans to close skill gaps prior, during, or after their transition to the private sector. Access to the platform is free to Veterans and is funded by donations from our Corporate partners. These Corporate partners will work directly with our Veteran Success Advisors (VSAs) to develop training plans to meet their required skill gaps for current or prospective openings. There are three levels of partnership which offer various benefits that may include: monthly meetups with our Veterans, input to training plans, ability to develop Corporate tailored training content for the platform, access to candidates training records, access to resumes for hiring or bids, signage on the website and all events, plus the opportunity to serve on the Education Advisory Board (EAB) or the Transitions Advisory Board (TAB).
